Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Josef Mayr studierte an der Fachhochschule München Bauingenieurwesen mit Schwerpunkt Baubetrieb. Zwischen 1976 und 1987 arbeitete er als Bauleiter und Sachverständiger mit Spezialisierung auf den vorbeugenden Brandschutz, anschließend war er bis 1997 im Risk Management bei der Versicherungskammer Bayern tätig. Er ist Autor der „Schadensbilder aktuell“ und „Brandschutzinformationen“. Bis 2005 war er Geschäftsführer des Feuertrutz Verlages. Er ist weiterhin als ein Hauptautor für den Brandschutzatlas tätig und kümmert sich neben seiner Tätigkeit als Brandschutzingenieur verstärkt um seine Seminartätigkeit in verschiedenen Institutionen. Dr. Jürgen Wiese studierte Bauingenieurwesen an der TU Braunschweig und promovierte dort zu einem Thema des Baulichen Brandschutzes. Nach langjähriger Tätigkeit als Referatsleiter für den Vorbeugenden Brandschutz und für Allgemeine Schadenverhütung beim Verband der Sach- und später Schadenversicherer in Köln wechselte er 1997 zur Sachverständigenpartnerschaft „Halfkann und Kirchner“. Dort betreut er seither das Sachgebiet Fire-Engineering als Wissenschaftlicher Leiter. Er engagiert sich ehrenamtlich in einer Vielzahl von Gremien auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene zum Teil in leitenden Funktionen. Den Schwerpunkt bilden dabei die ingenieurgemäßen Verfahren des Brandschutz-Ingenieurwesens und des Industrie-Brandschutzes.
